About Me
Well I finally decided to create my own blog. Im not sure how much I will be able to go on here and update, but it will give me something to do in my "spare" time!!! LOL When I'm not driving 150miles a day for work, or picking Jaz up from basketball practice, or taking the kids and myself to physical therapy,,,,not to mention the house, the horses, basketball, baseball and now golf haha...I am now 32 years old, and have been bartending for 9 years now!! I have been with the Wynn Hotel for the last three years now, and was fortunate enough to become a full-time bartender 2 years ago! I still live in Pahrump, with six horses on the place. I have been taking one horse a year from North Dakota and bringing it back with me in the summer and 'foaling out' the mare here. We have had some mares up there that are on the wrong heat cycle and have been losing foals due to foaling so late in the winter up there. Steve is 34 this year and has been a union pipefitter for 14 years now. After four years of keeping his book, and his hours in the Las Vegas union hall, they finally accepted him as a member of their local!! He is now a L.U. 525 member!! He makes the drive into Vegas just as I do. We were car pulling for a while when Steve was working on the Palazzo, (the second tower to the Venetion). He is now working on the City Center, and expects to be out there for the next several years! His hours and days off don't match mine enough to car pull, and he works to far away from my hotel now, so were are stuck driving seperately every day. Steve and I have been married for over four years now! Katlyn is one of my two stepdaughters,,,Brittany is the other,,,,Katlyn is 12 years old, and is a super intelligent child!! By the time she was in 3rd grade she was reading on a 7th grade level!! She is now is 7th grade and continues to breeze through her classes, she is playing the flute again this year. This is her second year playing, and she made first chair again!! When she came out this summer with her sister we had the opportunity to watch, listen, and be complEtEly amazed at her talent. She is also playing basketball, and softball for her school. It will take me some time to gather pics of everyone and get them together and send them. Jazmine is next in age, she is 4 months younger than Katlyn! Jaz just started the 6th grade and really seems to enjoy it, she feels like a 'grown-up' now. Jaz played baseball with the boys last year, and ended up being the star catcher on the team! When she wasn't playing catcher, they had her on second base! Never would have thought she would have liked it as much as she did. She did so well on the team that they wanted her to play on the 'allstar' team in Vegas, but her age wouldn't allow it. Jaz is playing basketball this year for her school, this is her third year playing and she ROCKS!!! She was really nervous about try outs. They were three days long, and the competition was stiff! In the end she made the team! After watching her play on the court it was NO wonder they picked her. They have two teams for the school, and Jazmine is the shortest player of BOTH teams!!! LOL Boy that doesn't slow her down though, anyone watching her guard a girl that is a foot taller than her wouldn't think that her hight is affecting her at all in the game! She will be doing a lot of traveling for the team this year, I think her farthest place she will be going is to Ely. She is very excited and can't wait for her first game. I will be traveling to most of the games and will be able to make most of her practices seeing how I have to take her home every night anyway. Ryan is next in line. He is 10 years old, 11 on new years eve.!! He is in fifth grade and has been breezing through it with no help at all! His 'talking personality' in school has slowed way down!! His teachers have always told me for years that he is one of the smartest kids, he just likes to talk out of turn! Go figure!! He played basketball last year and surprised us all at how well he played!! His two favorite sports to play are baseball and golf! Ryan will be playing baseball in the spring for the 6th year now! We have all said for years that the kid has an arm. Over the last four years, Steve and I have been working with Ryan on his pitching! He started pitching for the team 2 years ago. Ryan just seems to get better and better every year! As most of us know, he is more of a soft hearted kid,,,reminds me of Brett, and if the coaches yell to loud at him, or pick him out of the group to be punished,,,he really takes it hard. By the way he is so good that thAt hardly ever happens! As of his last baseball season, where he was the starting pitcher in the allstars in Vegas, his pitch was averaging 60mph!! I can verrify that cuz I was out playing catch with him one day,,,without a catchers mitt, and I missed the ball and it hit me in the juggler vein!!! Almost knocked me out cold,,,I went down gasping for air, as Ryan came running over to me with tears in his eyes saying "I TOLD YOU YOU COULDN'T CATCH THEM MOM!!!!!" Yeah thanks buddy...hehe so needless to say that was the last time I played 'catcher' for him, we still play catch, but he knows he has to take it easy on me.!! Ryan also loves the game of golf. Before I started working at the Wynn, I was a bartender for a golfcourse right here in Pahrump, he picked up the game,,,,or should I say the club, and hasn't slowed down, even during baseball he finds the time to go golfing with his 'uncle Bob'. This is the fourth year that Ryan has gotten new gear from Bob (Bridgets ex-husband) They have a son that is a year older than Ryan, and they are best friends!! I will sign Ryan up for golf for the first time this year...which means getting him to and from practice,,,watching him,,,cheering him on,,,,and pretty much doing what I LOVE to do with both of them!! People often ask me how I manage sleep, or time for me,,,,,the answer IS......I don't, not much, but it doesn't bother me in the least! I feel like this is where I am supposed to be in my life, and supporting my children in WHATever they decide to do is the name of the game baby!! Have only missed ONE game in the last two years! That was because I was at my neice's wedding in Arizona. My children were lost without me even the coach said that!! I will pick up with Brittany my youngest step-daughter on the next stop!! Its now nine, and I have to be up at 3:30 for work!!!
